Club stalwart Fraser Millar sadly suffered two severe strokes on the morning of 30th November 2020. He needed life saving brain surgery at York Hospital and spent weeks in the intensive care unit. A true battlaxe in every sense, Fraser is now undergoing intensive rehabilitation to aid his recovery at the amazing Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.
His Family, Debs, Alex and Ryan have been incredible during such a heart wrenching and difficult period. They are currently raising money to fund therapy equipment for Woodlands as a huge thank you for their support during Fraser's journey.
Fraser loved to go for long walks. For this reason, Alex and Debs have set off to cover the miles it would take to walk from York to Perth, Scotland (where Fraser is from). They started the journey on Saturday 13th February 2021, with the aim to complete all the miles by 7th March (Deb's birthday).
They would welcome any donations, no matter how big or small. It would be hugely appreciated. Please follow the link below for more info on how to donate.
Fraser was heavily involved with the junior section of the Football Club when his son (Ryan) started playing at U7’s through to their final season at U16’s. Fraser coached alongside Carl Smith, whilst also carrying out the role of junior club fixtures secretary. This is a rare achievement in itself and epitomises Fraser’s tenacious and hardworking attitude. During this time, he not only undertook the role of team coach, but also had an active role on the club committee, often as our resident BBQ chef at junior football presentation day!
A well respected and liked member of the footballing and local community, our best wishes go to him and his family for a speedy recovery to full health. Our thoughts are with you.
